On piano I specialise in playing instrumental pieces from a three distinct styles which provides an eclectic mixture for everyone: pop songs, classical music and ragtime. This works perfectly as background music for wedding breakfasts, corporate events or restaurants gigs. I also play a small range of ‘showstoppers’ that always get a round of applause and often get the audience singing along. These include Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, I Would Do Anything For Love by Meat Loaf as well as ragtime classics The Entertainer and Maple Leaf Rag. Even though the last two don’t have words, guests still manage to sing along!
For weddings, piano instrumentals usually slot in perfectly for the wedding ceremony and the wedding breakfast. I have a small range of classical pieces which I often play before the start of the ceremony and then play songs chosen by the couple for the wedding entrance and procession. I’m more than happy to learn pieces specifically for the occasion. And then for the wedding breakfast I tend to start with classical pieces followed by well known pop songs followed by ragtime and finish on one of the showstoppers.
